Iron sharpens iron. Writers improve their skills by helping others. The North Texas Christian Writers locations total more than a hundred members who meet in small groups.
What is an Encouragement Group? Members meet monthly to brainstorm ideas and offer suggestions to improve their writing.
Why join an Encouragement Group? By helping others, we gain from external views and experiences, sharpen our skills, store treasure in heaven, and accomplish more than we could ever do on our own. If you’re looking for someone to praise your work, ask your mother or a close friend. But if you want to become a better writer, you need to share insights with other dedicated writers.
One of the most important benefits is gaining a perspective on your work that is different from your own.
When do groups meet? Most of the NTCW Encouragement Groups meet monthly except for March, June, September, and December when NTCW has a special event for all groups.
How are the groups different? Each meets at a different location and time. Every group offers what suits the unique needs of its participants. As membership changes, the type of critique will naturally change to meet the different needs.
What is the membership cost? There is no membership cost.
